We beschikken reeds geruime tijd over relevante en essentiële planetaire grenswaarden voor de klimaatverandering, voor het verlies aan biodiversiteit, voor de verstoringen van de elementcycli, en nog voor enkele andere indicatoren. Die limieten mochten we niet overschrijden; maar daar hielden we geen rekening mee en nu dreigt een nooit geziene humanitaire catastrofe.
